The predecessor of the Beitou Hot Spring Museum, the former Beitou public bath, was the largest hot spring bath in East Asia, and was built in 1913, modeled after the Izuyama hot spring in Japan. Now it has been transformed into an exhibition hall that introduces the history of Beitou Hot Springs and cultural development. It was also completely preserved for public visits. The large baths resembled the Roman style with stained glass.
